Antiparos House

Agios Georgios, Antiparos2024–ongoing

Commissioned as a holiday residence for rental, Antiparos House occupies a steep coastal plot in Agios Georgios, facing the island of Despotiko. The close presence of the sea and the open horizon give the site its particular character. The brief called for a house that could welcome guests as a shared retreat while offering each part of the accommodation a sense of independence and privacy.

The topography becomes the organising principle of the design. A sequence of white volumes follows the contours across four levels, allowing the house to settle into the slope. Living spaces, bedrooms and outdoor rooms are distributed along this descent, with changes in level creating separation between functions. Stairs and sheltered passages connect them, alternating intimate moments between walls with expansive views towards the sea.

Terraces and pools extend daily life outdoors. Deep pergolas provide shade, while planted roofs and low Mediterranean vegetation soften the transition between architecture and terrain. White plaster, local stone and timber draw on the material language of the Cyclades. Their textures register the changing light, giving the composition a quiet presence within the rocky landscape.

The architectural design and permitting process have been completed. The project is currently awaiting construction.
